We were offerd a taste of this amazing Harmony Chardonnay from Trefethens reserve collection on our visit to Trefethen and are now very pleased to be stocking a very limited amount in the UK.

Vintage Notes

Much of our winter rain came late, with almost 12 inches in March alone. With a very warm spring, the vines were running about three weeks early heading into the summer months. July and August were cooler than average, with foggy mornings, mild sunny afternoons and no severe heat spells. Vineyard temperatures rose again in September and harvest dates were early by about two weeks. The heat in the spring and again in the fall provided welcome bookends to the mild summer. The grapes benefited from increased hang time and showed fantastic character development.

Production area
100% Main Ranch, Planted in gravelly soils in the northwestern quadrant of the stunning Trefethen estate vineyards, Located in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. These well-drained soils combined with limited yields produce Cabernet Sauvignon fruit with bright and complex flavours.

Description
Rich pineapple flavours highlight a creamy and smooth entry and continue through the end. With classic Trefethen brightness, the finish is fresh with layers of citrus and ripe tropical fruits.

Food Pairings

This Chardonnay is best with delicate but rich food featuring almonds, hazelnuts, chopped tarragon or lemon thyme. Focus on richer fish dishes, pork, chicken and anything in a mushroom cream sauce.
